A portion of the trail along the north side of Buffalo Bayou in downtown Houston is temporarily closed. This closure is needed to address a safety concern at the confluence of White Oak and Buffalo Bayou in Johnny Goyen Park, near the University of Houston–Downtown.

Planned work includes modifying an existing retaining wall and reshaping the slope to improve visibility and realign the trail farther from the bayou’s edge. A detour route is in place to guide trail users safely around the construction area. Please follow posted signage and do not enter the closed section.
