Miyawaki Forest

On February 14, a group of neighbors and volunteers gathered at the Yale Trailhead to plant a native micro-forest using the Miyawaki method. By planting native trees and shrubs closely together in deeply amended soil, the plot is designed to grow quickly and establish a self-sustaining ecosystem.

This gallery shares the visual progress of the site, tracking the forest’s development from planting day through our recent photos on July 28.
