We want to hear from you to help us shape future events ! To what do we owe the pleasure of seeing so much Mardi Gras festivity in the Heights ? Has it always been this way? Do other neighborhoods in Houston also decorate a lot? Trails as joyful as the Heights trails deserve better intersections. Join 50+ neighbors in adding your signature to our petition to request stop-controls, raised crossings, high visibility crosswalks, and other appropriate measures along the trails in the Heights. You can also request a yard sign! In March 2023, neighbors planted the first trees along the trail. Paul joined us that first day! 💚if the trail could talk, it would say thank you. To everyone that uses the trails, follows, comments, shows up to events, volunteers, and donates to make projects like this possible. This Saturday 2/14, we’re giving a Valentine’s Day gift to the trail. 50 trees, many will be arranged into 2-3 groups known as a Miyawaki Forest. Dense, tightly packed natives that will be able to grow up to 10x faster, and become a self sustaining ecosystem in as little as 2-3 years 💚💗 Until 2022, busking — performing music in public spaces — was illegal in Houston.
